Description
Dermcare Malaseb Medicated Shampoo
Dermcare Malaseb Medicated Shampoo is formulated to treat Seborrhoeic Dermatitis and aid in the treatment of Dermatophytosis (ringworm) in pets. Seborrhoeic Dermatitis is a bacterial and yeast skin infection, while Dermatophytosis is a contagious fungal disease affecting the skin and coat.
Malaseb helps by:
* Killing micro-organisms to control bacteria and yeast levels
* Removing excess oils and scales caused by infection
* Removing allergens like pollens that can irritate the skin
*
For Seborrhoeic Dermatitis, use twice weekly during active infection, then weekly for maintenance. For ringworm, use twice weekly with systemic antifungal treatment for 8–12 weeks. Malaseb helps kill infective spores on the coat, preventing spread and environmental contamination.
Using Malaseb with a systemic antifungal reduces recovery time compared to medication alone. Note: Ringworm in cats often affects the entire coat, so full-body washing is required. People with compromised immune systems or young children should take extra precautions.
Directions for Use:
* Wet the animal thoroughly with clean water.
* Apply Malaseb at several points and massage well into the coat.
* Ensure the coat is completely wet for proper lather.
* Use a sponge to improve lather and coat penetration.
* Approximate use: 50ml for a 30kg dog, 7–10ml for a cat.
* Leave on for 10 minutes. Supervise your pet to prevent ingestion.
* Use a damp cloth with diluted foam for cleaning the face.
* For cats, a three-bucket rinse method with warm water may help reduce stress during bathing.
Caution:
* Avoid contact with eyes. Flush thoroughly with water if shampoo enters the eyes.
* Do not leave pets unattended during the 10-minute contact time.
* Not for use in rabbits or species other than dogs and cats.
Safety Directions:
Irritating to eyes and skin. Wear gloves when using. Wash hands after use. First Aid: If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Australia 131126). If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; give water. Storage: Store below 30°C.
