Travel FAQs

What size suitcase do I need?

The right size suitcase depends on how much you need to pack and the length of the trip. For a shorter trip, like 1 to 3 days, a carry-on bag or weekender usually gives you enough space for a few outfits and the essentials. For a week or more, look at a medium, large or extra-large suitcase, keeping in mind airline weight limits if you’ll be flying.

What kind of bag can you use as carry-on?

It depends on the airline, but you can usually use a bag around 56cm x 36cm x 23cm or smaller with a total carry weight of around 7kg. A carry-on bag, travel backpack or duffel bag is usually allowed, but always check with the airline.

How do I pack a suitcase well?

Planning your outfits ahead of time is a good way of making the most of your suitcase space without forgetting anything you may need. Packing cubes can make it easier to fit everything in, placing heavy shoes and items towards the bottom near the wheels, and filling any gaps with socks and small accessories.
