Laundry baskets and hampers for an easier wash day

Keep dirty clothes organised between wash days with a laundry basket or hamper that suits your household and available space. From compact washing baskets for smaller loads to larger hampers for family laundry, choose a size around how often you wash and where clothes tend to collect. Consider handles, ventilation and how easily the basket can be carried from the bedroom or bathroom to the washing machine.

Choose between a laundry hamper and washing basket

A laundry hamper can create a dedicated place for collecting worn clothing in a bedroom, bathroom or laundry. If you regularly carry loads between rooms, a washing basket with comfortable handles can make moving clothes to and from the washing machine more practical.

Some households may prefer separate washing baskets for different loads. Using dedicated baskets can help keep categories organised before wash day, whether you sort by household member, clothing type or another laundry routine that works for your home.

Find a laundry basket that fits your space

Measure the intended space before choosing, particularly if the basket needs to sit beside a washing machine, inside a cupboard or in a smaller bedroom or bathroom. Consider the height and footprint as well as capacity so the basket does not obstruct doors or busy walkways.

Woven laundry baskets can also bring texture into a bedroom or bathroom while giving worn clothes a dedicated home. If you're organising more of the room, explore laundry storage

Keep your laundry setup practical

Place your hamper where clothes are usually changed so they're easy to put away rather than left on the floor. Empty baskets regularly and follow the individual product instructions when cleaning woven, fabric or solid materials. For the rest of your wash-day setup, browse laundry essentials
