Large rugs to bring living spaces together

Give a living room, dining area or bedroom a strong foundation with a large rug that connects the furniture and adds colour, texture or pattern to the floor. Kmart's large rugs come in a range of patterns and materials, from detailed weaves to subtle block colours. Before choosing, measure the area you want to cover and consider how the rug will sit with your sofa, dining table or bed.

Choose the right large rug for your room

In a living room, a large rug can help define the seating area and visually connect sofas, chairs and a coffee table. Measure the complete furniture zone rather than the empty floor alone, then compare your measurements with the rug dimensions.

For dining spaces, consider the table and the area used by dining chairs. In bedrooms, think about how much rug you want visible around the sides or foot of the bed. If your room needs broader floor coverage, compare extra large rugs or browse the wider rug collection.

Style large rugs with your furniture

Because a large rug covers a substantial area, its colour and pattern can influence the whole room. Neutral rugs can create a simple foundation, while patterned or coloured designs can become more of a feature. Look at your existing sofa, cushions, curtains and artwork for colours that can help connect the rug with the space.

Large Rug FAQs

What should I measure before buying a large rug?

Measure the full area you want the rug to cover and consider where surrounding furniture will sit. Check door clearance and major walkways, then compare your measurements with the exact rug dimensions before ordering.

Can I get free delivery on a large rug?

OnePass members receive free delivery on eligible items or orders with no minimum spend, subject to exclusions and postcode eligibility. Large rugs may have different delivery eligibility, so check the individual product page before ordering. See OnePass benefits for more information.

Can I return a large rug if I change my mind?

Eligible Kmart products can be returned for change of mind within 60 days of purchase, or up to 365 days for eligible OnePass members, subject to Kmart's conditions and exclusions. The rug must meet the change-of-mind return requirements, including being unused, in original packaging and in resaleable condition. See the change of mind returns policy for full details.

Are there return fees for large or bulky rugs?

If a rug is classified by Kmart as a big and bulky product and collection is required for a change-of-mind return, a collection fee will apply and will be advised before the fee is incurred. Check the product and delivery information before ordering.
