Dermcare Pyohex Medicated Shampoo
Pyohex is a topical antibacterial shampoo containing 3% Chlorhexidine Gluconate. It helps treat superficial bacterial skin infections in dogs and supports healthy skin when used regularly.
Why dogs get skin infections: Bacterial skin infections often occur secondary to other conditions such as allergies, hormonal issues, or parasites. These underlying causes allow natural skin bacteria to overgrow, resulting in infection. Treating both the infection and its cause is essential for lasting relief.
Common signs of infection:
* Pustules or small bumps
* Red or scaly circular patches (collarettes)
* Inflamed or moist “hotspot” areas
How Pyohex helps: Chlorhexidine gluconate provides broad antibacterial action against bacteria commonly linked to canine dermatitis. The 3% concentration in Pyohex is proven to deliver optimal antibacterial effectiveness when paired with Pyohex Conditioner.
Frequency of use: Use twice weekly during active infection. Once the skin clears, bathe weekly or fortnightly to prevent recurrence. Dogs prone to seasonal allergies may require more frequent washing during warmer months.
Directions:
1. Wet your dog thoroughly with clean water.
2. Apply shampoo at several points along the coat.
3. Massage into a lather, using a sponge if needed.
4. Leave on for 10 minutes under supervision.
5. Rinse thoroughly.
Safety & Care: Avoid contact with eyes and skin irritation. Wear gloves when using. If in eyes, rinse immediately with water. Wash hands after use.
First Aid: If swallowed or irritation occurs, contact a vet or Poisons Information Centre (Australia 131126). Do not induce vomiting; give water.
Storage: Store below 30°C. Dispose of empty containers responsibly.
