Return of products purchased from marketplace sellers on kmart.com.au can only be processed online and cannot be returned to or processed by Kmart stores.
Kmart offers a range of products sold by marketplace sellers on kmart.com.au. The name of the applicable marketplace seller will be clearly marked on the product page, at checkout and on your order confirmation.
This policy applies to products purchased from marketplace sellers on kmart.com.au. This policy is in addition to any further rights a marketplace seller may give you under any separate additional warranty or returns policy that the marketplace seller may have in place. All refund rights under both State and Commonwealth law apply. Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and failure does not amount to a major failure. If the failure is minor, marketplace sellers may reserve their right to offer to repair only.
A return is considered change of mind if you wish to return a product sold by a marketplace seller because you have changed your mind or need a different size, colour or style.
A return is considered a consumer guarantee return if the product you purchased from a marketplace seller is faulty or doesn’t meet consumer guarantees.
To process a change of mind return on a product purchased from a marketplace seller:
You must return the product/s to the seller within 30 days of purchase, or 365 days if you are a OnePass Member and the marketplace seller has opted in to OnePass benefits for that product. See the product page for OnePass eligibility.
The product must be in resaleable condition, meaning: - It is in its original packaging, including instruction manuals and all accessories; and - It is unused, unassembled, in its original condition, and in the case of clothes, it is unworn with the original ticketing on it
The product must not be excluded from marketplace change of mind returns
Return costs will be incurred by you. The marketplace seller will notify you of any costs associated with returns before they are incurred by you.
Marketplace sellers reserve the right not to process your change of mind return if these requirements are not satisfied.
If you return a product to a marketplace seller and they determine that it does not meet these conditions and decline your return, the seller may charge a fee to redeliver the product to you.
Marketplace sellers will not accept change of mind returns for the following product categories:
Cosmetics, unless the hygiene seal is intact
Beauty products
Fragrances
Hosiery and shapewear
Underwear, except bras
Swimwear, unless the hygiene sticker is intact
Pierced jewellery
Printer cartridges, unless the seal is intact and packaging is unopened
Personalised printed material, including, but not limited to, photos, canvases, mugs, and calendars
Bedding accessories, unless the packaging is unopened and intact. Including, but not limited to sheet sets, quilt covers, pillowcases, mattresses, air mattresses, sleeping bags and pillow protectors
Tents, trampolines and furniture, unless the packaging is unopened and components have not been used or assembled
Trading cards, card collection packs and card decks, including, but not limited to Pokemon, NBA, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Panini
Mobile phones and mobile internet modems, unless the packaging is unopened
Headphones and earbuds, unless packaging is unopened
Home technology, unless the packaging is unopened. Including but not limited to, televisions, speakers, lighting, smart locks, security cameras, cameras, drones and WiFi routers.

To be eligible for OnePass 365 days change of mind returns for products sold by a marketplace seller, you must have an active OnePass subscription or be a current trial member at date of return and the seller must have opted in for OnePass returns for that product at the date of purchase. Additional exclusions apply on products sold by marketplace sellers returned after 30 days. These include:
Event products (for example, but not limited to, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day)
Under the Australian Consumer Law, Marketplace sellers will accept a product return where:
The product is faulty or is not of acceptable quality;
The product is not fit for its intended purpose;
The product does not match the sample or description; or
The product has been recalled
Return shipping costs will not be incurred by you if the product is confirmed to a breach of Australian Consumer Law.
If you return a product to a marketplace seller and the seller determines that it meets consumer guarantees and declines your return, the seller may charge a fee to redeliver the product to you.
Sellers reserve the right to assess the condition and age of returned goods prior to providing a repair, exchange or refund. Sellers reserve the right not to offer an exchange repair or refund where the product fault is a result of misuse or neglect.
Please be aware that data (including, but not limited to, images, music and video) may be lost during the repair process of electrical and electronic products. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all personal data is deleted before returning to the seller.
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method, which includes the same card used for the initial purchase. However, if the original payment method cannot be verified, the payment method of the refund will be at Kmart’s discretion.
If the purchase was made through a buy now pay later facility, the refunded money will be returned to the account held, and the balance will then be adjusted accordingly.
Refunds may take up to five business days to appear in your account.
For online purchases made with a gift card, refunds will be issued as a new Kmart gift card sent to your email within 2 business days after receiving your refund confirmation. If refunds on your order are processed on separate days, you will receive multiple emails, each with a new gift card. If you also paid with a credit or debit card, your refund will be split in the same proportion as your original payment. For example, if you paid 80% by card and 20% by gift card, your refund (including partial refunds) will follow the same 80/20 split.
To return a product sold by a marketplace seller:
Open the Kmart Chatterbot or your order tracking page.
Select the product/s to be returned, quantity and reason for return.
The seller will contact you within 2 business days to confirm return details.
Products purchased from marketplace sellers cannot be returned at Kmart stores.
