Think outside the block

Brickman’s brick tip #1: When buying a LEGO® set, take a look at what parts are in the set and think about what else they could become. You may want to pick a set to use the cool parts for another build!

Don’t feel that you need to stick to following the instructions in our sets, some of the best creations happen when you use your imagination and go off track! Mix and match different sets or reuse bricks from previous builds to make something completely new. Start with a story

Brickman’s brick tip #2: If you’re stuck for an idea of what to build, watch some TV or read a book, then try and recreate your favourite scene! This can be so much fun and before you know it you may end up making the whole show or book!

Brickman’s brick tip #3: Try and build different things. Get a family or friend to pick an object and try to recreate it. This may seem hard at first, but once you master the art you will literally be able to make anything from LEGO®.

A solid foundation

Brickman’s brick tip #5: Always make sure your model is built on a solid foundation; baseplates are a fantastic way to make that easy. This is never more important than when you have to move a model around! I’ve dropped my fair share of models because I didn’t build the bases correctly, so don’t be like me!
