Kmart is proud to work with the following organisations to provide support to those less fortunate and in times of need or in crisis situations.
The Salvation Army
Kmart partners with The Salvation Army to assist those in need at Christmas time via the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal. In addition we work with The Salvation Army to provide support during times of crisis, such as when communities are impacted by natural disasters.
Kmart works closely with The Salvation Army to ensure our support is directed where need is the greatest.

Variety – the Children’s Charity
Kmart’s partnership with Variety – the Children’s Charity commenced in 2012. During 2012 Kmart stores nationally collected coin to support the Variety Bikes4Kids program which provides bikes to disabled and disadvantaged children. The 2012 program saw 2,500 bikes and helmets being provided to disadvantaged and disabled children.
During 2013 Kmart stores will be supporting the Variety – the Children’s Charity’s Freedom4Kids program which provides mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, modified bikes and stand equipment.

Think Pink Living Centre
The Think Pink Living Centre provides holistic support totally free of charge to patients, their families and carers at any stage of their journey with breast cancer. The Think Pink Living Centre focusses on wellness rather than illness.

Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital
In December 2011 Kmart formed a partnership with Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital to provide trees for the hospital’s main atrium and throughout the hospital’s wards and administration areas.
Kmart also donates toys for children unable to leave hospital on Christmas day.
Our Overseas Partners
In line with Kmart’s philosophy of giving back to communities in which we operate, Kmart Australia Sourcing teams support and work closely with local welfare organisations in countries where we source our products.
Half the Sky
For the past three years the Kmart Australia Sourcing team in China has been providing valuable support to the Half the Sky Foundation. The Foundation supports and cares for orphaned children in China.
In 2012 Kmart became the official partners of the foundation’s children’s centre at Changzhou. Kmart will support Half the Sky through volunteer work and by raising funds so they can continue their important work.

Salaam Baalak Trust is a Deli based charity dedicated to the care and protection of neglected street children, regardless of caste, creed or religion.
The Kmart Australia Sourcing team in India has been assisting Salaam Baalak Trust by providing funds to enable them continue to provide residential accommodation, education, health and emergency programs to some of India’s most disadvantaged children.
