What is thread count?

Thread count is the number of horizontal and vertical threads in an area of 10cm square. This relates to the density of the weave and weight of the fabric.

Our thread counts

  • 180 thread count – Polyester/cotton
  • 225 thread count – Polyester/cotton
  • 225 thread count – Cotton
  • 500 thread count – Australian grown cotton
  • Difference between materials

    All our fabrics and materials have differences, here's an explanation of each of the fabrics we use:

  • Polyester - synthetic fibre.
  • Cotton - natural fibre.
  • Cotton percale - refers to the type of weave used.
  • Percale - a plain weave fabric with a crisp hand feel.
  • Sateen - a satin weave fabric with a soft hand feel and a sheen.
  • Jacquard - a woven fabric with the design incorporated during the weaving process.
  • Polyester/cotton - a blend of polyester and cotton yarns fibres.
  • Cotton/linen - a blend of cotton and linen yarns fibres.
  • Flannelette - an open weave fabric made from cotton that has been brushed or napped.
  • Velvet - a closely woven fabric with a short pile that is soft to touch. Made from polyester that is durable and soft.
