On 16 December 2011 Santa officially launched Christmas at the new Royal
Children’s Hospital (RCH) this morning by turning on the lights of the huge
Christmas tree in the hospital’s atrium, Main Street. To celebrate being the
first official Christmas partner of the RCH Kmart donated an impressive nine-metre
tree featuring life-sized animal decorations to complement the hospital’s
interior design, which draws upon Australian flora and fauna.
On top of decking out the hospital with Christmas trees, Kmart continues the tradition
of donating gifts to each of the children that are unable to leave the hospital on
Christmas Day. We look forward to getting into the Christmas spirit again this year
and enjoying all the smiles on the patients, families and visitors to the hospital.
